October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Posted Date: 10/01/26 (02:53 PM)

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to focus and raise awareness on bullying. Let's work together to make sure CJHS is a place where all students feel safe!

TODAY, OCTOBER 1ST, CJHS STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR BLUE TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT BULLYING.
DID YOU KNOW: You have the power to make an impact. When you stand up against bullying you become a part of the solution to the problem of bullying. More than half of bullying situations (57%) stop when a peer intervenes on behalf of the student being bullied (Hawkins, Pepler, & Craig, 2001). Whether you know the victim or not, there are things that you as a bystander can safely do to support the victim:
* Don't laugh
* Don't encourage the bully in any way
* Don’t become an "audience" for the bully
* Reach out in friendship
* If you notice someone isolated from others, invite them to join you
* Tell an adult
