Drama Club

The purpose of the Junior High Drama Club is to provide an outlet for students’ creativity; to promote interest in theater among students; to provide students with a means of gaining theater experience; and to entertain the community. In Drama Club you will play theater games, participate in improvisation activities, learn about auditioning for a play, and work on developing believable characters.

Drama Club will present a play in the Spring semester of the school year. Members of the Drama Club are not required to participate in the after-school production but are highly encouraged. Those who wish to participate in the play are not required to be in Drama Club.

Be sure to make arrangements for your ride.

Meet the Team - Ms. Jamie Lindsey

My name is Ms. Lindsey and I have been a theatre, speech and debate teacher for 9 years. In my free time, you can find me studying for my master’s degree, creative writing or being with my friends. I truly enjoy teaching at the Jr. High and I look forward to having a positive influence on my students.

Purpose: The world of Speech and Debate can grant endless opportunities for students. Students will gain confidence, speaking skills and argumentation skills while participating in this organization, as well as a sense of teamwork, independency and more chances for higher education opportunities. My purpose is to give my students the skills they need to succeed past Jr. High and High School.

One word: Confidence. The skills my students gain in my classroom contributes to their overall confidence in themselves. It’s truly important.

Carthage Jr. High Theatre is proud to present to you “James and the Giant Peach” from the book by Roald Dahl. Showtimes will be March 9 & 10 at 7:00pm and March 11 at 2:30pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. We are excited to present this adventurous show to our community in March!
