Attention: CJHS is helping CHS FBLA Shoe Drive Fundraiser

Posted Date: 10/29/25 (8:23 AM)

CJHS Staff, Students, and Families,

Carthage High School FBLA is holding a Shoe Drive Fundraiser. This project is a 60-day collection event where our community collects gently worn shoes (or new) of any shape, size, or style.

The goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of shoes and if we meet this goal, we will potentially raise $1,000. More shoes = more money.

The money CHS FBLA raises, with the Shoe Drive Fundraiser, will be donated to the Children’s Haven in Joplin, which serves our entire area and provides free, temporary, and safe shelter for children ages birth through 17 when their families are experiencing a crisis, such as homelessness, hospitalization, or substance abuse. In addition to helping the Children's Haven, the shoes are kept out of landfills and sent to developing countries, where local “micro-entrepreneurs” resell them. This creates sustainable income for them and provides affordable shoes in countries, for example, like Haiti where the average annual household income is less than $400.

CJHS is one of the drop-off locations for this Shoe Drive Fundraiser, so bring your gently worn, used, and new shoes to CJHS or any of the other drop-off locations listed below.
